about

The Disco Muerte remix project comes to end, with an eclectic mix of remixes. Each of the five is heavily enthused with the remixer’s irreverent personality. Lee Chaos takes us back to the band’s late 90s goth-‐industrial roots, Sputnik do what they do best with a technicolour blast of pop, Method Cell swoop in with a Wipeout sleek EBM reinvention, Beaumont turn Shoot Me Dead into a Moroder-‐esque pop explosion worthy of Tony Montana, and Goteki’s own mix of Shuriken is cheekily indulgent machine gun barrage of hard industrial with added mermaids. The EP ends with a cover of ‘Death is not the End’, is a stomping, darkly comic ballad for death. And so ends the Santa Muerte era of the bands history – A story of sex, death, celebrity and infinity, told in their own whimsical and distinctive way.

about

Goteki Nottingham, UK

Goteki write songs about murdering strippers, dying and dreaming of stars, robot geishas and alien invasions. Their joyously disparate lyrics are set to a backdrop of electronic music fused with a love of other genres. The big crunchy beats and seering arpeggios pulse with blues, motown, country, pop, hip hop and whatever else feels right at the time. ... more
